Azhar Jalil, an accomplished graduate of Universiti Sains Malaysia, pursued his passion in Fine Arts majoring in Acting and Directing. His illustrious journey in the theatre industry commenced in the year 2000, when he immersed himself in the captivating world of stage performances. Over the years, Azhar steadily honed his craft, showcasing his versatile talents and unwavering dedication to the art of storytelling.

It was in the transformative year of 2009 that Azhar Jalil began actively engaging in various drama productions, contributing his exceptional skills as a supporting character. In a remarkable turn of events, Azhar Jalil became a part of the electrifying reality show, Raja Lawak, which aired on Awesome TV in 2022. Joseph Foo is the founding partner and executive creative director of 3nity since 1996 – an established and award-winning multi-disciplinary brand identity consultancy in Malaysia – alongside two other partners, Leong Kah Fai and Luke Teong. A graphic designer by training, Joseph has in recent years placed his focus in education and community led projects. His latest collaborative project is the A Book & Chocolate (ABC) – a learning space for the children of the Annapurna region that was created for the local community to encourage literacy among their children.

He actively promotes the idea of 'social innovation' to clients, encouraging them to make a difference with their business by also meeting the social needs of the local community. Between 2017 to 2019, he co-founded kongsikl and rexkl, a place-making and repurposing of old building in Kuala Lumpur to create both economic viability for businesses and promote development of social enterprise, arts and culture to the surrounding communities.

He sits at the advisory board of DESIAP (Design & Social Innovation in Asia-Pacific) leadership mentoring program, School of the Arts, University of Science Malaysia & Dasein Academy Kuala Lumpur. Beyond Malaysia, he teaches and conducts workshops at institutions across Asia, Europe, the UK and US. He has been involved in the Neighbor Programme, which is a ‘research as practice’ project aimed at reconnecting Art & Design institutions within the South-East Asian region. Recently he chaired the design & packaging section of London International Awards (Chinese Creativity show) in Las Vegas, USA.

I've been shooting documentaries, reality programme & telemovie for nearly 10 years. With a background knowledge of architecture, I've put it to good use implementing subject composition, balance of framing in videogrphy. Currently, I'm exploring social media content creation & studying human interaction with short form videos. I've been managing Alif Satar youtube channel with 500k subscribers & Z Garage Youtube & facebook with 95k subscribers.

Title of Presentation: Mansau-ansau, journey of an artist

Presentation Synopsis: Sabahan contemporary artist Yee I-Lann will share stories from her journey as an artist, a few lessons she's learnt along the way and the value of Mansau-ansau (Kadazan-Dusun language, to walk and walk without knowing where you are headed).

Short artist bio: Yee I-Lann lives and works in Kota Kinabalu. Her practice cuts across photomedia, text, textile, installation, and video, drawing on a broad range of knowledges and material. She has since 2018 been making collaborative works with Dusun Murut weavers in Keningau, Bajau Laut weavers in Semporna, and other Sabah-based arts practitioners. Yee’s solo exhibition Yee I-Lann & Collaborators: Borneo Heart in KL (2023) is on-going at Ilham Gallery and Rumah Lukis. Current group exhibitions (2023) include Indigo Waves and Other Stories, Savvy Contemporary Berlin; World Classroom, Mori Art Museum; 14th Gwangju Biennale: Soft and weak like water, Gwangju; Living Pictures: Photography in Southeast Asia, National Gallery Singapore
