TS. DR. SITI SUHAILY SURIP

Senior Lecturer

Completed bachelor's and master's degrees at Universiti Teknologi MARA Shah Alam, Selangor, followed by a doctoral degree focused on science materials from The School of Industrial Technology, Universiti Sains Malaysia, Penang. Has served as a Senior Lecturer in the Product Design Department at School of The Arts, Universiti Sains Malaysia since 2007. Brings extensive industry background spanning over 8 years as an Senior Industrial Designer at Automotive Packaging (M) Sdn. Bhd. and Bristol Technologies Sdn. Bhd. located at Selangor and Kuala Lumpur Malaysia. Award recipient in numerous national and international design and materials science competitions, including Malaysian Young Designer Award Finalist (Professional Category, 2012), National Intellectual Property Award Finalist (Professional Category, 2013), and Artscience Prize Trophy Design Awards Finalist (2020). Students under supervision have also been won of prestigious national/ international design competition such as The James Dyson Award (JDA), International Invention Innovation Award in Canada (ICAN), National Wood Invention and Innovation Design Award (WIID), and International Furniture Design and Innovation Award (IFDI) . Actively engages in undergraduate and postgraduate student supervision for research and coursework. Holds intellectual property rights for over 20 Copyrighted works and 1 Industrial Design patent registered under MyPO Malaysia.

Passionate about lifelong learning and knowledge dissemination amongst students and community. My Research philosophy rooted in the ethos "A coconut shell full of water is an ocean to an ant," recognizing the boundlessness of knowledge. Upholds values of humility, passion and integrity as essential foundations for research, teaching and learning.
