The project aims to create a prototype of media art for a Malaysian context that enhances the healthcare environment and promotes well-being and mental health among students, patients, visitors, and healthcare staff. The PhD student, Raja Eda Shabina Binti Raja Raimie Azhar, from the Department of New Media Design & Technology, School of The Arts, created this project under the guidance of Dr Mohammad Kamal Sabran and Dr Nur Zaidi Azraai.
The "Immersive Healing Art Project" is an interactive installation that combines art and technology, which was installed at the waiting area pharmacy of Pusat Sejahtera. The prototype was developed using the Microsoft XBOX Kinect 2.0 depth sensor for motion recognition and Unity 3D software to program the interactions. It includes elements such as animated visuals, natural sound features, and soothing nature sounds, which aim to provide stress-relieving and relaxing effects for users.
