Penang

Penang is an island rich in culture and heritage, a creative arts hub where artists, industry players and communities come together to organize events, celebrate festivals, discuss issues, innovate creative spaces and support each other. Penang is the proud organizer and host of many international music, arts and film festivals. Some of the popular events and festivals are Georgetown Festival, Georgetown Literary Festival, Penang Art Week, Penang Jazz Festival, World Music Festival, Trop Fest Film Festival, Georgetown Heritage Day and many more.

The vibrant island of Penang is also home to many creative arts hubs such as Penang Art District, Hin Bus Depot, Penang International Conferences and Exhibitions, Penang Performing Arts Center and Georgetown Heritage Incorporated. All these bodies work closely with School of the Arts USM, the Penang State Gallery and Museum and the Penang state government to ensure the sustenance of the creative arts hub in Penang. Penang is also known to be a place for affordable and quality education. In addition, it is a safe place to live and thrive as a student.
