As part of the Music Department’s performance major programme, final year students are required to showcase a one-hour recital of contrasting genres. This year, thanks to the lockdown the music department was forced to think of alternative ways to evaluate this performance that is often held at an auditorium to a ticketed audience. Therefore, our only performance major student Wong Kai Wen performed live on FB to all her friends and family tuning in and supporting her virtually. On 30 June, she performed Andante and Rondo Capriccioso, Op 14 by Felix Mendelssohn, Toccata in E flat Minor by Aram Khachaturuan and Musica ricercata by 20th century Hungarian composer Gyorgy Ligeti. This video you see is from the second half of her recital after intermission.
