The School of the Arts offers a Master of Arts (MA) and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) program through research mode. Both programs provide you with exciting opportunities to explore research ideas in a single discipline or an interdisciplinary field within our 6 departments. To graduate with an M.A. or Ph.D., candidates are required to work closely with their respective supervisors to produce an original research work, submit a dissertation and successfully complete the viva voce process. Enrolment in both programs will involve the independent study of your chosen research area. The flexibility of our MA and Ph.D. program allows you to undertake the research as either a full-time or part-time candidate. The School of the Arts offers the Doctor of Philosophy and Master of Arts with diverse research areas to explore in each and inter- department. The Master of Arts and the Doctor of Philosophy degrees are offered through the School of Arts on the basis of research and the writing of a thesis or dissertation. Candidates of a postgraduate program will be awarded the Master of Arts or the Doctor of Philosophy upon completion of a successful research and dissertation. These degrees are offered on a full or part-time basis. The duration of candidature for MA is 12 to 36 months (full time) and 24 to 72 months (part-time) whilst the for Ph.D. is 24-60 months (full time) and 36-90 months (part-time).
