BIODATA
Dr Nurul Hanim Md Romainoor is as Lecturer in the Department of Graphic Communication Design at the School of The Arts, Universiti Sains Malaysia. She was awarded Doctor of Philosophy from Curtin University, Australia in 2015.  Her doctoral research focuses on mapping the complex formal and informal structures of support for people with Down syndrome in Malaysia. She was guided by Professor Christopher Crouch, Dr Terrence Love, and Dr Karen Soldatic which transform her academic research skill into a trans-disciplinary approach. Dr Nurul Hanim Md Romainoor was born in Kuala Lumpur but she was raised in a humble town called Hulu Langat, Selangor and various parts of the world that include America, New Zealand, and Australia. She loves traveling and her pastime hobby is cooking.

The objective of her PhD thesis research was to illustrate the development of social inclusion of people with Down syndrome in Malaysia by using diagrammatic form. Her method is an In-depth qualitative analysis on design thinking and systems thinking. The result of her research identified complex interrelated challenges was expressed through structural visual models which can be used by stakeholders.
